Review of Crane Manor
The first escape that we decided to christen our group with was Crane Manor at ClueIQ. In this room we were transported to Sleepy Hollow where the Headless Horseman is being controlled by a master of the Dark Arts. It would be our job to break in and find the head of the Headless Horseman so he could be laid to rest. The initial interaction with our Game Master was super positive. He was friendly and very encouraging to us on our walk to the room. When we first walked in he gave us the run down of the scenario and left us to try and find the head.
While we were scoping out the room, we were very impressed with the continuity of the theme. The dressings that were used made the experience immersive and helped to portray the story of the room. We were also impressed with the wide array of effects that the room used. As a warning there is light contained fog as well as varying levels of light. Throughout the room we were excited to see many different types of puzzles, but we won't give you those details so you can see for yourself. This was a difficult room with some challenging riddles, some that stumped us and required us to use three hints in total, although ClueIQ gives you unlimited hints. Even with the hints we were running short on time. We were able to get out of the room with only five minutes left on the clock. We only found that out at the end because there is no physical clock in the room. A voice would come over the intercom every 15 minutes to indicate the remaining time.
We found this room to be not only thrilling but also challenging with multiple puzzles being able to be solved at one time and in different rooms. Something that made this room extra fun was the great Game Master that we had. It was a great first outing for the Wintle Wonders!
