Review of Dungeon of Fire
Becca was already in Charlottesville for a show with DMR and Collin had an interview for our upcoming production of The Little Mermaid at the Wayne Theatre so Josh and Katey tagged along and the evening ended in an impromptu escape room! There happened to be an opening for Dungeon of Fire at Cville Escape. We were super excited for this room since we're also DnD fans. Their website says: "Enter into the heart of the dragon's dungeon - a place of wonder and riches, littered with the bones of those who went before. The die is cast."
This room was more medieval themed than DnD themed. There were elements of DnD in the room as well as Magic the Gathering but we were a little disappointed with how little DnD there was. To us, this room felt like the least cohesive. We had a hard time starting this room and ended up using 4 hints. We like that Cville Escape has their boxes in order, but we didn't feel like it helped in this room. The clues to solves the puzzles felt disjointed and more mundane that other rooms at Cville Escape. This is not a room for beginners and is very much a room for experienced players.
Overall, we had fun, but it was a little bit of a letdown.
